World Cup 2010

It's finally here.  Let's use SoccerClub to discuss strategy and tactics, also to raise any issues that you might see in pre-game planning.  We have members from all over the world so I'm sure each team will have a SC representative. Also use our "Invite" tab to invite friends so we can get more people involved. One last thing to do, show your support by adding a profile picture of yourself in your team's colors.

Nervous about our first game!!!!

Hi! My husband and I are Coach and Assistant Coach for our 5 year old Daughter's Soccer Team. We have 8 precious little girls (ages 4 and 5). We are the "Sweet Peas" and our first game is THIS Saturday. Due to weather, we've only had 2 practices....a little nervous about our first game! We're ready to just have fun at this young age but don't want to miss out on "learning opportunities" for our girls to grow on. Would LOVE advice on drills/games that teach corner kicks, goal kicksContinue

First Year as Head Coach

Well, I went from "Team Mom/Equipment Manager" to impromptu Assistant Coach for my daughter's indoor/Futsal team, to Head Coach of a Girls U-12 team in three years.

I've never played soccer on a team - just helped my daughter with her skills and really paid attention during practices with select teams and professional coaches (we played up last year when she was 9 to a U-13 league).

Before this, I coached cheerleading and softball. Kids are pretty much the same wherever you are, and I've made… Continue

Drills for a co-ed soccer team?(grades 6,7,8)

Hey, first of I really am a assistant coach of my school.

Anyway, I was trying out for my school soccer team for my second year and the coach called me over. He asked me to get some drills for the school try outs and later the practices dubbing me assistant coach of the team in a way. So I thought up the drills from my own soccer practices that the kids in my school could do. I so far have three but I can't think of any more.

Thank you any answers would be appreciated.

Red Card from SoccerClub

Earlier we posted our first draft of our Rules for Membership to SoccerClub. The rules come down to show respect and don't screw around with anyone. We get constant notes about some of the "agents" offering to help players and coaches find teams. They are difficult at times to investigate since we don't want to punish and honest person doing honest work. However, what we have learned is that old classic; if it smells rotten, then… Continue
