Players, Coaches, Referees, Administrators and Their Parents

Rules for Membership

Simply put: SoccerClub exists as a way for people involved in the business and fun of soccer to interact by sharing information and making new friends.

There are two issues that have been raised since we launched:
1) User's "spamming" other users
2) Agents and the potential for scams

Let's address and put some plans into action:
1) User's "spamming" other users
The leading violators are those looking to sell a product, looking to join a team or soliciting with promises to connect members with a team. The technology allows this; however; the methods being used equate to spam and I need to stop to this practice. If a member does not explicitly state that they are "looking for a team" or "looking to buy practice equipment", then they should not be solicited.

What to do: Create or join a group. We have groups for players and coaches, for businesses and equipment providers -- that is where you should post your general information. If you would like to create an sponsorship campaign to reach members, please contact our business team via my site profile.

2) Agents and the potential for scams
We have already started deleting accounts, but we need the help of our members in flagging prospective scammers by notifying us via my site profile.

New Rules: All prospective agents looking to match players or coaches with teams by charging a fee on SoccerClub must:
a) Create a Membership with full name and location
b) Write a Blog entry in their profile, clearly defining your services and references. You must include the following:
·Permanent website of your organization
·Your business address
·Your email, must be to a website and not a commercial email provider (like yahoo, gmail, aol, etc)
·Your business phone number
·Any missing information will lead to the removal of your profile and all posted materials.

These should not be considered tough guidelines to follow for a legitimate organization. Also, these are non-negotiable. This is my website, and I will do what is necessary to protect my members. I have created a blog posting, called "Blocked Users," where I will list members that were blocked and some background to make sure they don't try again.

Thank you,
Tim McGuinness - Founder SoccerClub

I am glad you were smart enough. There was this crook defrauding innocent men and women from a sitre like this. I want to give a big kudos to the founder of this site for his new line of action.

I was just communicating with a Chinese guy who said he was representing the National Men's Chinese Tam, I got his contact from another soccer member website, etc., and in his e-mails that he sent me which looked valid, where he stated how much the pay would be, the benefits, etc., and then he said I must contact an office in China, to get a form that I would have to pay for, so that I could become a legal alien worker in China, etc., but I would respond as to why did I have to pay for a form, if I was being invited to be part of the coaching staff of the National Team of China, such costs should be coverd for I requested that we meet so he could verify as to who he was, and after that I never heard from him...

So I agree, you have to protect your website and your members, so keep up the hard website administration work, I support it.
