Hi! My husband and I are Coach and Assistant Coach for our 5 year old Daughter's Soccer Team. We have 8 precious little girls (ages 4 and 5). We are the "Sweet Peas" and our first game is THIS Saturday. Due to weather, we've only had 2 practices....a little nervous about our first game! We're ready to just have fun at this young age but don't want to miss out on "learning opportunities" for our girls to grow on. Would LOVE advice on drills/games that teach corner kicks, goal… Continue

Well, I went from "Team Mom/Equipment Manager" to impromptu Assistant Coach for my daughter's indoor/Futsal team, to Head Coach of a Girls U-12 team in three years.
I've never played soccer on a team - just helped my daughter with her skills and really paid attention during practices with select teams and professional coaches (we played up last year when she was 9 to a U-13 league).
Before this, I coached cheerleading and softball. Kids are pretty much the same wherever… Continue

Hey, first of I really am a assistant coach of my school.
Anyway, I was trying out for my school soccer team for my second year and the coach called me over. He asked me to get some drills for the school try outs and later the practices dubbing me assistant coach of the team in a way. So I thought up the drills from my own soccer practices that the kids in my school could do. I so far have three but I can't think of any more.
Thank you any answers would be appreciated.

Earlier we posted our first draft of our Rules for Membership
to SoccerClub. The rules come down to show respect and don't screw around with anyone. We get constant notes about some of the "agents" offering to help players and coaches find teams. They are difficult at times to investigate since we don't want to punish and honest person doing honest work. However, what we have learned is that old classic; if it smells rotten, then… Continue

Intro to simple soccer drills with cones
It is always fun to open up a video on the web and see players like Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo dazzling the world. It almost seems that they have the soccer ball attached to their foot. That is why the world loves them. When they touch the ball everyone is left in awe. While it seems like it is magic, it is not. These players are the best in the world and have become that way by practicing fundamentals. There are many… Continue

To all coaches be aware of those people asking for players or coaches. Please, please don't send them any money. Because they make you feel like you will get the best job in soccer, then they ask for money giving you all kind of excuses for example: Forms , legal contracts etc...it's all Fraud.
This web-site should be for honest Soccer coaches to learn from each other and exchange ideas in soccer coaching, managing, etc...not for those nasty Crooks.
Please Don't be… Continue

I've played soccer all my life for a premier team. I'm coaching a girl's middle school soccer team this year. I know drills, but not ones that they're capable of doing.
..they have specific habits of the defense packing into the goal, not passing, and not getting into open space.
--any kind of drill would help!
thanks a ton :)
